THE MAKING Of thE ODYSSEY

I spent a good chunk of 2022 making The Odyssey, it’s an album that went very intuitively.

When I was writing it, a lot of it helped me cope with the traffic accident I had, but also with the tough battles that were ahead. This was the final straw of be clinging onto a life that wasn’t mine, and I needed this album to help me get through that, and it did.

But the crazy part is that this album felt more like a foreshadowing about what’s to come in 2023, than it was about my traffic accident. It’s the perfect manifestation of my toughest battle yet. And having that with me makes this album super special.

Tracklist

The idea of The Odyssey is a relentless journey, filled with wonder, filled with grief, the will to explore, and the will to fight.

It starts out with a will to explore, to journey. But then sobering truths jump in like an unexpected falling star, crashing on the surface. A piece that represents the moment where I got into a traffic accident earlier that year.

But then the unthinkable happened, I was faced with a race that was about to change my life, turning into a gazillion stages of grief and confusion.

There is a big emotional part in the middle that all represent this grief and endless confusion. But in the end, it shifts. It becomes a battle, a journey that I am yet to experience.

The Odyssey is about the future, and the end of the album, that’s where it really starts.
